I first encountered Kate Capato’s art through her painting called The Woman. It depicts Eve and Our Lady of Guadalupe. It’s beauty was (and still is!) captivating. It’s an image that I have thought of and taken to prayer many times.

Beauty is restorative - and it points us back to the ultimate beauty of God.

In today’s conversation, you’ll learn about the power of beauty in your ordinary, daily life as a Catholic woman. Kate and I talk about how God is the ultimate artist, and the ultimate source of creative inspiration.

If you’ve longed to encounter beauty and be drawn closer to the Lord’s Sacred Heart through that encounter, sister, this letter is for you.

Topics we talked about in this episode:

  • What Kate’s time in Italy studying classical art and beauty taught her about God

  • How order and technique enhance creativity in our daily lives

  • Why God is the best artist and how to study Him in creation

  • The process of creating Sacred Art as a visual homily

  • Honoring the body when representing the human person in art

  • How Sacred Art is restorative and healing
