Remembering Maeve's Firsts With My Catholic Keepsake

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of “My Catholic Keepsake” in exchange for my review.

Before I gave birth to Maeve, people would tell me all the time, “Try to remember everything! It all goes by so quickly.” I thought they were joking. After all, it didn’t seem to fly by when I was up every other hour of the night feeding a little person. Time sure wasn’t slowing down when Maeve was on a nap strike.

But over breakfast this morning, I realized that Maeve will be seven months old next week. And while there are moments that seem to last forever, it also seems like just yesterday that we brought a sweet little baby home from the hospital with us and into our home.

I have a good memory - but even I can’t remember every single moment of the past seven months. Even the beauty and joy of Maeve’s birth has some fuzzy moments.

That’s why I loved the opportunity to start writing the important moments down in a brand new baby book by a company called Thy Olive Tree - My Catholic Keepsake.

There are many baby books out there, but there are some particular reasons why I love the chance to document Maeve’s story in My Catholic Keepsake.

Bible verses and prayers are sprinkled throughout the pages, and there are plenty of opportunities for me to take some of my favorite pictures of Maeve off of my phone and print them, scrap-booking them the old fashioned way.

You know me, I love all things old fashioned. But I also appreciate the modern color scheme and design.

This isn’t just a baby book, though. Yes, it creates a space for you to document first smiles, steps, laughs, and solid foods. There are pages dedicated to telling the story behind a baby’s name, and the hopes and prayers you have for a baby before labor even begins.

But it is also a book you’ll continue to pull off the shelf to write in long after the baby clothes are packed away.

I love how there’s space to write about a child’s first pilgrimage (Italy for Maeve! More on that later), and picture places for birthday celebrations.

There are pages to write about a child’s first reconciliation, communion, and confirmation, too.

The book ends with space for parents to write a letter to their child - and there are extra pages in the back for more letters or pictures.

From before the birth until senior year of high school, this book creates a beautiful space to preserve your favorite memories for years to come.
